The Site Manager has responsibility for coordinating and leading all aspects of the seed production site. Critical focus areas include Safety, ISO, and personnel management. Site manager is responsible for all plant and field operations at the Windfall, IN soybean production facility. The Site Manager will assist in identifying Six Sigma projects and acting as a Champion for selected projects. Other Responsibilities include human resources administration, budget control and supervision of all packaging, distribution, and operational activity. Site Manager will work closely with other company departments to insure the smooth flow of product through the facility. Responsibilities also include other tasks that may be assigned by the Crop Leads. The Site Manager will maintain cooperation between operations, other functional areas, and corporate office staff. Site manager is responsible to ensure all governmental rules and regulations are adhered to at the site i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc. Site manager is a key representative of the site and Monsanto in terms of community involvement.
Key Business Accountabilities.
SAFETY Insist on adherence to Monsanto sponsored safety objectives. Provide assistance and arrange for resources to promote safety at production facilities. Participate in site level safety committees, coordinate site safety initiatives, safety technician training, and initiate Management Of Change . Develop action plans and implement process changes, as required. Promote a ''zero tolerance'' standard when it comes to maintaining personal or co-worker safety in all operations at your manufacturing site. Recommend, develop, participate, and coordinate, as necessary, seed production safety proposals designed to enhance site safety programs; e.g. field worker safety.
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION Assist with development of tools to enhance assessment, recognition, and employee development plans. Champion continuous improvement efforts pertaining to seed production employee training, development and promotion. Work with site personnel to implement such tools. Be an active participant in college recruiting and departmental diversity goals. Develop site plans to foster sharing, employee development and retention. Ensure all appraisals of site personnel are completed in a timely manner.
AGRONOMIC EXPERTISE Keep abreast of new agronomic developments and recommendations to improve productivity, including current insect, disease, and weed management recommendations, as well as soil science and fertility recommendations. Be an agronomic leader for your site. Work to help transfer ''best practices'' between locations. Develop methods of encouragement and promotion of the CCA program within your site.
QUALITY ASSURANCE Participate in continuous improvement seed quality initiatives, continuing refinement of commercial and/or foundation quality standards to meet/exceed stakeholder and customer quality expectations. Champion Site Seed Production efforts around ISO9001-2000 and help transfer knowledge and learning's across the seed production organization. Promote high quality production at your location. Assist with making necessary ISO and SOP updates as business and/or process changes. Lead and conduct annual reviews of site procedures identifying changes, updates, and enhancements with Crop Leads, prior to each season. Make recommendations regarding suspect quality batches to crop leads. Promote highest possible quality products at your location. Consult with Foundation and/or Breeding on matters that have the potential to impact quality or cost. Keep abreast of new technology for production, processing and handling product that will improve quality and cost.
SUPPLY MANAGEMENT Understand basic SAP and be a resource for new plant personnel. Coordinate inventory, grower accounting and
production at your location. Direct all site operations to insure ample supply of good quality seed. Champion best practices for collecting field data. Develop and track site metrics to insure site is meeting supply requirements. Have ownership
f site capital and operational budgets. Take an active role in all site improvements.
TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONAL NETWORKS
Assist Crop Leads with recommendations and implementation of projects at plant locations, which show promise in terms of quality, yield, reliability, and/or cost improvement. Work to enhance six-sigma with the seed production/manufacturing team. Ensure active site participation and best practice sharing through operational networks.
## Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience :
Minimum Bachelor''s Degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Business, or related area
5
years of managerial experience.
Operations management experience in a manufacturing capacity
Results oriented leadership
Communication skills including the capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications.
Decision-making and problem solving skills. Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, even when dealing with emotional topics.
Ability to develop unique and novel solutions to problems through the use of data intuition and new ways of thinking.
Ability to lead people and teams in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; e.g. team orientation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desired Skills/Experience
5. years of experience in Seed Agricultural Industry
Prior experience and demonstrated ability to lead people and teams
Proficient in SAP
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma, leading or participating on a project
Knowledge of manufacturing leverage areas, including safety, quality, cost and reliability
Knowledge of soil and seed science, general agriculture and farming practices, field and plant technology and operations expertise
Functional and technical proficiency to include field and/or plant operations management of a seed production plant or an equivalent position.
